Welcome

Welcome to the Neaptide website and another piece of what goes on in Salcombe. I incorporated Neaptide in 2000 to bring together my career experiences and set up a ‘cottage industry’ in management, publishing, scripts, screenplay and music related interests.

The past few years have been spent developing projects with people I’ve associated with along the way and we’ll gradually bring our work to their respective markets.

Looking ahead I would like to think that Neaptide will be a vehicle which will help young people realise their creating dreams and potential whilst being businesslike, ethical and courteous as we do so.  Last but not least, if we manage to play a small but worthwhile part in this local economy and community that would be ‘great’!

Expressions of interest are welcome.

David Cohen

Cannon on the Ley

A wartime drama set around Slapton Lay and the Salcombe Estuary in South Devon, England.

The story is based on a factual background and is about a young mans attempt to save an endangered butterfly which has its habitat in land annexed for military training.

Publication Date: Friday 6th April 2012

The Broad Steps

A major work set in Devon and London - the mainly Kenya in the 1930s and 1950s when the Mau Mau ‘war’ was prosecuted so brutally with the British, finally leading to Kenya’s independence in 1963.

The story tells about a novice priest sent to the Northern Territories of this beautiful country and addresses the many trials and tribulations that test us all but particularly those that give their careers to serving God.

The screenplay is fully developed and professionally encouraged, whilst this company will release the book in (date to be announced).

THE BROAD STEPS THE PHILOSOPHER

The Philosopher and the Eleventh Commandment

Rock star Mike Marshall plays his last concert in New York and returns to England to look for a future outside of the music business. He’s got nothing in mind as such but in the customs hall at Heathrow he’s witness to murder.

A clue from the dying man puts him onto the notion there’s someone ‘out there’ called the Philosopher who knows about an Eleventh Commandment.

Scripts in Development
